I had a fantastic breakfast experience here a couple of years ago. The menu was excellent and my brunch was so delicious I wanted to come back and try other menu items. But most of all, the guy running the place was really passionate about his coffee. I’m always impressed when a cafe has a dedicated coffee menu, and I had a great chat with this guy about his special house blend and he encouraged me to try something new – I forget now what it was, but it was fantastic. So I had high hopes coming here again. They stocked ONA beans, which was a good sign, but then the blackboard out the front said “Takeaway fish and chips”, which was definitely not a good sign. Puzzled, I looked around for the coffee guy. He was nowhere to be found. And… the coffee was terrible. So sad! I wish I’d come back here more while the going was good. I wonder if there has been a change in management or if the owners have just lost their passion and lowered their standards.
As for the BB, the little handwritten sign said it was baked in house, but it certainly didn’t taste like it to me. It had a very generic light, smooth consistency with a slightly vanillerish taste. It was ok.
