Generally, I want to steer away from reviewing chain cafes. You don’t review McDonald’s alongside restaurants. My experience at Three Beans Broadway, however, was so uniquely terrible that I figured it warranted a mention.
Usually you get the best service when you’re served by the owner/manager, but not in this case. She took my order without even a verbal acknowledgement, let alone a smile, glancing in my direction just long enough to hear what I said, with an expression somewhere between vacant and annoyed, then proceeded to simply shove the tap machine towards me. I don’t specifically remember what was wrong with the coffee, but it elicited a gag response. The banana bread was not much better – cakey and bland, tasting more of vanilla flavouring than banana. I assume there’s a standard supplier across all Three Beans, so I don’t hold the Broadway branch specifically responsible for the BB, but with atrocious service, terrible coffee and no discernible banana in the banana bread, this was by far the worst coffee and BB experience I’ve ever had. And having visited hundreds of different cafes in the past 6 months alone, that’s really saying something.
