Shots is a funny little place. From the front, it looks a bit like a photography shop, except there’s a coffee machine and it doesn’t sell cameras or photography supplies. There are photo prints for sale, but they adorn the walls and shelves as if they just belong in the shop. And there are little pot plants around the place with googly eyes. Literally those plastic stick-on googly eyes – I can’t help but think of Everything Everywhere All At Once. And then Mum came out from the back to give me my banana bread! It was like I’d walked into a really nice guy’s living room, looked at his photos, had a coffee and a chat and said “Hi” to his mum before heading off. Super cute, but not really up to cafe par. The coffee was ok, but the banana bread had that familiar artificial banana flavour that, to me, is the dead giveaway of a bad banana bread. I’m not disappointed, though. I had a nice time and feel like I’ve visited a friend.
