As the Pursuit of BB approaches the end of its first year, I’ve really slowed down because I’ve kinda felt like Newtown is done. It took me a while to realise the Wolf and Honeybee was in Newtown, but once I checked that off, I thought that was it. I’d been intentionally skipping Tokyo Lamington, since I both already loved them and knew they didn’t have banana bread, but given how awesome and Newtowny they are, I figured they deserved a mention. Then Ariana’s Place opened, but it’s not like new places are opening everyday. Then I just happened to stumble across Els & Co, which reminded me I haven’t exactly combed every street. But that seems to be it as far as Newtown goes… unless a place is new or hidden away, I’ve been there and done that. And with two babies, it’s hard work venturing further afield, especially when cafes are not always likely to be good. I’m finding myself more and more likely to re-visit known good places and try more things on their menus rather than continue with the pursuit of banana bread. Besides, every time I buy banana bread these days, I barely get to eat any of it before it’s been devoured by the little locusts.

The pursuit will go on, but I won’t be covering as much ground as I have over the past year. I’m looking forward to taking more pictures, upgrading the website and trying to be a little more professional about the whole thing. Ha, but who am I kidding, the baby has food in his hair. One thing is certain: fun things happen when a couple of babies drive you to pursue banana bread, and the fun never ends in this house 😉
