While looks can sometimes be deceiving, in the case of Little Legends, all signs, from the street art to the mustachioed barista, point to a great coffee. With beans from intriguing boutique roastery, Lot61, my flat white delivers everything it’s supposed to and then some. Their regular size is smaller than most places, which makes for a perfect milk ratio, and my mouth is flooded with flavour. The banana bread, however, is disappointing – crumbly, cakey, with an artificial banana flavour. You can’t add banana flavouring to banana bread, people, it doesn’t work! Little Legends, being barely more than a hole-in-the-wall, probably didn’t bake this themselves, but they at least should’ve tasted it. And the slices were unwrapped in the window… I know it looks tacky having each slice wrapped in cling wrap, but believe me, it makes a massive difference to the moisture. If you don’t like the look of the cling wrap, leave the loaf unsliced and slice each piece just before toasting. Nevertheless, I really like Little Legends. They had a fresh house-baked foccacia on the counter, just like One Another – if only I’d ordered that instead of the BB!
