I was down at Federal Park today because of the sandpit, so that meant my coffee and banana bread had to come from the Tramsheds. I’d already tried the obvious options out front, Butcher and the Farmer and Garcon Spritz Bar, so I wandered inside looking for another option and found Gazzi, a casual Mediterranean restaurant/cafe. It looked okay, and the coffee was nothing remarkable as I sipped it on my way over to the park. But as soon as I could stop pushing the pram, I snuck a bite of the banana bread and oh my goodness it was a phenomenal magic banana bread like a manifestation from my wildest fantasies! Yes, I fantasize about banana bread. The second I took it out of the bag, a literal feeding frenzy ensued. The babies were both grabbing fistfuls and stuffing their mouths, and I kept snatching the thing and taking the biggest bites I could manage before they wrangled it back off me. We were just crouched on the ground in the middle of the park making frantic “mmmm” sounds between mouthfuls until it was all gone. It took about 20 seconds. Gazzi, what, how… I’m about as confused as I was when I left Pizza Piatsa.
