All that’s visible from the outside is a little door on a constantly busy and noisy Harris St corner, but inside is like a little haven. There was smooth jazz playing, leather lounges, slabs of wood with black steel trim. Lovely. The coffee was delicious: a nice, well-executed Toby’s Estate blend, almost as good as the one I got from the Toby’s Estate roastery, served perfectly hot with a professional little loveheart on top which almost seemed a shame to close up inside my keep cup.
The banana bread was ok, it tasted fine, it was just a little on the greasy side and a little cooked into dryness around the edges, but that’s a baking issue, not a staleness or over-toasting issue, so I blame the supplier rather than the cafe. Could they have stocked a better banana bread? Probably. Did they really need to? Not really, I was happy. They’re doing just fine.
