Miss Lilly’s looks like it might have been a cafe at some point in the early 00s, with distressed-style cracked render and exposed brick down one side and some funky hand-painted inspirational message on the other, but the counter has since been brought right forward to the front door with drinks fridges and cakes cabinets covering it all up. The once-cool vintage filament bulbs are now sadly caked in dust and dangle next to the counter, shortened up with very indiscreet bulldog clips. There’s no longer any sit-in cafe space, just functional, commercial bakery. The owner/manager/barista/baker was a nice guy who looked he could’ve done with retirement a while back. We shared a bit of a yarn about the plight of Aussie bakers, trying to roll out puff pastry on 35 degree days. Try aircon, I reckon. My coffee was initially a bit “ugh”, but finishable. They were sold out of BB, so I went back another day and they hadn’t made any. So I went back again another time ad the girl at the counter was confused: “We usually have some…”. I’ve been back 4 times and am yet to try their BB. I will only pursue BB so far.
Coffee: -1
BB: Who knows?
