When I first visited Stitch, I was enamoured with the extensive coffee menu and huge range of coffee paraphernalia. The building is heritage-chic with great little seating spaces and I browsed through their quirky merchandise while I waited. Then when I tried to write up this post, I realised all I could remember were the cool products and I had completely forgotten what the coffee and banana bread were like. So I re-visited Stitch again today, reminding myself to pay closer attention.
The banana bread had a beautiful fresh banana flavour, but was very salted. Like, too salted. Definitely add a little pinch of salt to your batter when baking, but this had literally been topped with flakes of rock salt on the outside. Nevertheless (or possibly consequently) the toddler literally wanted the whole thing. It was an excellent banana bread, but salty to a fault, so it balanced out to an “ok” for me. The coffee is clearly Stitch’s focus and it was very good, so I was happy overall, as was the toddler.
